Duration: 1 year(March – March)


The course aims to educate and train students in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on the technical requirements of industry in Ireland. The course is a preparation for direct employment in an engineering industry and It will also provide students with a solid foundation to study an engineering course at third level. Students studying Engineering have access to technical workshops, fitted with a variety of specialist equipment . Students will gain practical skills to pursue a career in the Engineering industry. They will also have the opportunity to study QQI Level 5 Maths required for entry into engineering courses at Third Level. In this course the learner, will through theory and practice gain experience in the following: Machine Processes, Bench Fitting, Precision Measurement, Computer Aided Design, 3D Printing & Electronics.

    Entry requirements

    Applicants should have Leaving Certificate or Leaving Cert Applied. These entry requirements may be waived in some instances particularly to those with relevant experience. Applicants will be interviewed.

    • Occupational First Aid (optional)

    Course Fees

    An Administration charge of €250 applies. Exam fees and Government Levy are subject to exemption
