Equine Studies – Level 6

OVERVIEW

This is a follow on from our Level 5 QQI qualification in Horsemanship. New subjects are introduced such as Equitation theory, Horse Conformation, and Evaluation, stable and yard supervision. This course is designed to equip students with the advanced knowledge, experience, hands-on skills and learning in equine science to find employment in the sports horse industry, racing industry, or equine science industry or to start their own business. On completion, the opportunity for further study is available with the many third level Institutes/ Universities we have made links with.

Entry requirements

Education: NFQ Level 5 in a relevant discipline when accessing a Level 6 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 6 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.

Award

  • QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Equine Studies

Course Fees

Course materials fee of €200. There are no exam or registration fees.
